In all my commuting to and from Green Bus it has recently occurred to me that I must have been on all of Trams 04 - 16 yet do not remember even seeing Trams 01, 02 or 03. Does anyone know the reason for this?

Trams 01-03 can be seen in the sidings at Wednesbury depot having been out of service for several months and no.14 departed for Long Marston a few weeks ago.

Trams 01 and 02 haven't run for a very long time, you only have to look at the photo of  01 on the main site to see this.

02 was put back together about a year ago, but never actually got around to running again, and with the arrival of the new trams there is no point spending money on them

Thanks for the responses. So with the withdrawal of Tram 14 only 12 trams are left in service. I wouldn't imagine there will be any more withdrawals until the new trams enter service.

It doesn't say which ones, but this Centro article says 2 former Metro trams have been loaned to Light Rail Vehicle test fleet at Long Marston:

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Information on the British Trams website is that the two trams already present are 14 and Blackpool 636 with another Midland Metro due as well as two TfGM ones.

Does anyone know when 1-3 were withdrawn? I have sometime in 2010 for 1, December 2012 for 2 and December 2013 for 3.
