Thanks to London Bus News for this:

A 16-year-old schoolboy has broken the record for the fastest journey from Land's End to John O'Groats - by
public bus. The journey lasted four days ten hours & forty-four minutes at a cost of £170, whilst travelling 1,167
miles on 36 different buses to beat the previous record by nearly a day. Months was spent poring over bus

finishing some days after midnight and starting the next day again before 6am.

SEVERNLINK

Some planning indeed! If I were to do 'lejog' think that's how I'd do it...sit back and enjoy the ride  :)
I read this book last year http://www.amazon.co.uk/Move-Along-Please-Mark-Mason/dp/1847947107 The author took a different route and a few more days to complete. For local interest he did the 144 from Worcester to Brum then onto Lichfield-Burton-Derby. Very good read and recommended  8)
