Any idea why one of the stops in Lichfield Road, Rushall & 2 in Dyas Road, Kingstanding are different to your bog standard bus stop?

Normal bus stop pole but white box with a little aerial on top.

(Real time maybe,  but why ain't there more of them about? )

If I remember right there's one on the Hagley Rd opposite the Tesco Express. It has an LED RTI display on the top of the pole where the flag would normally be.

Not sure if there's one on Grange Rd in Halesowen as well?

Another on Westbourne Road, near Botanical Gardens for Harborne services... Also, photos on the main site (32**) shows that there used to be one outside Town Hall, before replacement with the 'City Centre' Bus Stands.

There's loads of these scattered all over the place; others I know of are on St Marys Row and Salisbury Road in Moseley, and College Road in Springfield.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

No, the two Grange Road stops are bog standard flagpoles

The screens in Corporation St are alongside shelters though, I imagine the OP was referring to screens on their own, such as these two in Earlsdon, Coventry.... http://goo.gl/maps/zhQaz and http://goo.gl/maps/SeLGw

Liverpool Street

Those RTI's are littered on the Coventry Road. Gladys Road etc

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

There are a few of those stops with the screens dotted around Coventry - there is certainly one on Clifford Bridge Road.

Speaking of non-standard bus stops - are there any old blue pole bus stops left in the West Midlands? (with the old-style WMPTE plates). On Google Street View one remains at Siskin Parkway West on the Middlemarch Business Park near Coventry Airport, this is 2008, it may have been replaced since:

On a later Nov 2012 view of Gielgud Way at the Walsgrave Business Park in Coventry there is another to be found, presumably unused: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.434258,-1.428788,3a,75y,341.68h,76.24t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sie8WeioqVgH20PIxx-epUg!2e0

Original West Midlands bus stops still exist around Burton Green showing 192 although now served by Johnsons 87.
A Travel Coventry stop for route E still exists in Beech Tree Avenue off Broad Lane. Any other redundant bus stops out there.

John

Not in Coventry, but there are at least 2 TWM stops in Water Orton (I think) with 590A on one and 590C on the other

Water Orton probably in Warwickshire like Burton Green and they don't know about it.
West Midlands Travel stickers also exist at various locations.
There's one on a shelter at Olton station inbound that I pass when I travel on the 37.

Yep, here is the Beech Tree Ave bus stop: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.407251,-1.565724,3a,75y,19.49h,73.59t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sF8Ga9T_VFg7DL2zEXA2zgw!2e0

Looks like the Siskin Parkway stop remains and is still in use.

I don't know how many of these curvy-cantilever bus shelters Centro introduced in the 90's are left - most of this type in Coventry have been replaced over the last 2-3 years. But this one on Lower Ford Street has remain unused for quite some time now:  https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.409746,-1.501309,3a,75y,105.53h,87.03t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sv_f5TdblKG9RVU6IBEqshA!2e0 (and still gets a clean from time to time).

There are a couple dotted around Wolverhampton. The ones on Princess St are of this style put have been repainted orange/blue

paulb1973

There appears to be an old Coventry Transport concrete post stop (without the plate alas) on Catesby Rd in Radford, still present by Oct 2012 (https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.434124,-1.516476,3a,75y,164.03h,83t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s7vVTK39cYm_adZBamx7iiA!2e0) There were quite a few of that type with more up-to-date TC/Centro plates until NWM removed them all when the new branding/bus stops appeared some years ago.
