20541 what a great little bus. Getting near the end of its life I imagine unfortunately
Is that the one that doesn't struggle on the slightest of hills? 20538 is a lovely sounding one but it struggles up the slightest of hills!

20913 has always been a favourite of mine. 20870 is alright as well.

I remember they used 20870 a lot on the S1 before it changed, breaking the LEZ. Is quite a quick one. Use to fly about.

Yeah, 20870 was alright. 20913 aka the snow mobile was better though! I remember driving it when it was minus 6 outside in snowy/icy conditions on the 82, and passengers were opening the windows because it was too hot onboard!

20884 had brilliant heating too. The one thing I can't fault on with Optares is the heating!

20869 was another good one. This one has a Merc engine, but it was very nice to drive and not slow. I believe 20869 operated the last ever S2, I had it for a few trips on that day.

20913 in its Tividale days was terrible, I remember seeing in West Brom a lot letting out clouds of black smoke and struggling.

30897 (AE06 ZBR) is still regularly operating in Redditch. Another Tividale bus - 20541 (KS03 EXM) Optare Solo - was on the 70 in Redditch yesterday and in service again in Redditch today.

And another Tividale bus operating in Redditch at the moment is 30638 (YJ06 YPV) Optare Solo.

20541/30638 are transfers as far as I'm aware, not certain on that though.

20920 is also at Redditch now.

Shame they've taken 20541, they've done something to it a few months ago and it absolutely flies down roads and up the hills!

Just seen this on Facebook

"Diamond Bus Ltd have made the decision to suspend the sale of Redditch Monthly Child tickets due to very high fraudulent use.
This was not a decision taken lightly. We have spent a lot of time reviewing this, and we are continuing to do so - including the involvement of local schools and the Police to try and curtail the issue.
When we are happy we have the solution we will consider reintroducing the tickets.
Weekly and Daily Tickets are unaffected and still available for purchase via the normal platforms."
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

The 34 Birmingham- kings heath Was running 40+ minutes late. In fact I hoped to catch the 14:25 from kings heath and looking at the tracker it was only just leaving the markets at 14:20. Is the route a car park?

Don't know. Shouldn't be. It serves the back roads of Sparkbrook, Balsall Heath and Moseley so I don't see how.

I've been to Kings Heath a couple of times actually. I've never really wanted bad traffic around there.

If I feel like a change coming back from yardley wood bus garage I get the 27 then 11 then 9 then 4H instead of 18 then 002 then 4H and never have any delays in Kings Heath either and its got a good Spoons.

Well what do you want?
The 34 gets stuck in the residential streets with the bad parking, that's another reason why it's late...
