Quote from: ellspurs on September 06, 2024, 08:57:22 PMThe bridge at Long Lawford on the 86 route is 11' 3". Are the electrics small enough to get under there? I remember there being an issue with the bridge in Bournville that the NX 27 currently uses, as it seems the electrics wouldn't be small enough to get under the 9' 9" bridge.
And the bus will have to in the centre of the road going under that arched bridge!

Hopefully SC will be increasing the 86 back to a 30 min frequency as the loadings are looking busy these days.

Photos of the first electric double deck (an ADL Enviro 400 EV) and single deck (Yutong E12) at Leamington depot are now on the Coventry & Warwickshire Bus Pics Facebook page.

So now we know what the double decks will be.

Is there something happening in Birmingham with stagecoach as there are so many stagecoach double deckers here when there should be none

Never mind I forgot it's Aston villa match day

Business was booming this evening on SC Leamington to Warwick University decker services.
One coming into the Uni at 5.15pm and another leaving the Uni at 7.45pm both full and standing. Blinds changed on both to read 'Sorry..... Bus Full'.

Buses will be undergoing a huge change as part of a £140m project by the Department for Transport

SC publicising in the Coventry paper today what has been mentioned on here some while ago.

Residents will see a major change to Coventry buses as a 'trailblazing' £140m project takes a step forward. Stagecoach will be rolling out 64 new buses in the city next year, which have been described as 'the most modern in the UK.'

Because the old mayor had his picture taken with the NXC buses, the new mayor wanted one as well, so jumped on the SC opportunity.

Thankfully they haven't done an Oxford and put them in the same colours as NX (telling the difference between a stagecoach electric bus and an OBC electric bus is quite hard).

They're not in the new Stagecoach 'almost black' livery. Maybe delivered before it was introduced.

Isn't any new bus 'the most modern in the city'?

True and worth asking how much mileage this new bus fleet will actually do within Coventry compared to the mileage they will do in Warwickshire and elsewhere?

  • Stagecoach are getting a further 64 electric buses (including 31 double deckers  ) from the Coventry all-electric bus city scheme for commercial services between Warwickshire and Coventry.  The services involved are the 56, 57, 148, 86, X17, X18 and U1/U2.

Are all the SC depots in Warwickshire having battery chargers fitted? How is this work progressing?

According to a Warwickshire CC report Leamington and Nuneaton are being done, and it appears that Leamington is ahead on the work.

The report doesn't mention Rugby garage, but as the electric allocation will be rather smaller, perhaps major work is not necessary?

I don't think Stratford (an outstation of Leamington) is being done as no services operated from there will be electrified under the current schemes.

Suspect plans are in place for them

Which routes do Rugby operate within the Coventry area? And thus how many buses would be required to be electric?

Forgive my ignorance, but I only know the Rugby routes that operate in Birmingham!
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath
