Wasn't it one of the 1908s?

Yes, it was. According to Tony's fleet list, 1908A (at least, that is what the heading on the tab says on my phone). But on the bus, it did say 1908. You can see it on the link I provided above.

What transmission did this thing have?

ZF I think

I bet it was superb. ZF Enviro300s can really shift. If anyone on here managed to catch a ride on it, did it sound anything like this one (as it is around the same age)?

I had to use 1908A as the address page as I normally use the fleetnumber for the final part of the page name and I had already used 1908 for the first one http://wmbusphotos.com/NXWM/1750-1953/1908.html
1908 was it's official fleet number, the same as the one before, and the one after!

Ah, okay, thank you for explaining about 1908A.

Yes caught it a few times on the 246 where it seemed to spend most of its time. It was pretty quick and sounded good but seemed very cramped and built cheaply compared to the B7's that were bought instead and actually did break down on me twice! Once on the 246 diversion by Corbett hospital loosing all air pressure and again I think around Russells Hall hospital, both times we were rescued by its older brother if you like an E400

The enviro 400's were allocated in July 2010 to Pensnett by this time 1908 was a wrights urban 2 as the E300 was transfered to Perry Bar in 2009. So it would be impossible that a BC E400 would come to the rescue!

Karl, what did you think of the Enviro300 from a driver's perspective?
