Today is the last day of Passenger Service for the Virgin Pretendolino it'll be operating its usual workings 1G40 (19:03 London Euston - Birmingham New Street) & 1B94 (20:50 Birmingham New Street - London Euston) if anybody wants a last ride on it.

The latest, and possibly the last delivery of GM locomotives (7) destined for GBRF at Doncaster are currently aboard the Netherlands registered special purpose ship"Happy Rover."
The ship is currently within 9 Hrs of its destination, (Newport S Wales) well ahead of Schedule but may be subject to tide restrictions.
Mind the Gap.....?:-)

Might not actually be the last. GBRF have found a loophole that would allow them to order 8 more.

If some components of 6 more engines are in the UK and registered by 31/12/14 those components can then be sent over to the USA and used in 6 more locomotives. They also have the engine out of the scrapped one that would be allowed to be put in a new engine and they have acquired a second hand engine from a scrapped 66 in europe which again could be pout into a new locomotive!

 Many thanks for the updates. The ship is currently in the newport dock area awaiting its berth at 17.33pm today. (sat)   Their delivery to Roberts road  (Doncaster) has already been scheduled on realtime for 15.37pm (pass) @ water orton on Tuesday 9th Dec. prob too dark for any decent phots unfortunately. >:(


For some unknown reason the RTT pages appear to be frozen and show the same readings for the next 10 days!!! the above Gbrf move may now run on Monday  (8/12/) in the same path.
