The ex AG Gemini rear display you're referring to is 4529, it's currently at WB  :)
I think that's 4060.

Yeah thats the bus 4512, also 6021 bendi bus at NX Coventry is the only bus i know left that still has the number on the left side of the front display and has been like this since new, even after the reprogramming for the network review at Coventry

Actually another AG Gemini or ex AG Gemini's back display doesn't work.

One of the Presidents at AG has its rear LED fallen out of place and you see half of it.

There was an AG omnilink, 1951, that didn't have a rear LED display until recently, the letters look a lot skinnier than on other omnilinks, a bit like the touchwood darts, keep a look out  ;)

There was one time when I was waiting for the 61/3 on Priory Queensway and a Blue Diamond Optare came up on the 37, and the display was just completely broken, it was scrolling through all the equations and mathematical stuff that goes into an LED display, it was so odd. I can't remember what it was exactly, but it was just stuff like "R=110/9 x5=3" etc, on the front, side and the back. The only reason I knew it was the 37 was because the driver had to shout it out when he pulled up to the stop so people actually knew to get on!

I often wish I'd got a picture of it now.

Here is a pic I took of 4628's rear display malfunction, spotted working the 900:-

May have to zoom in a bit  :)

Whenever I see the rear number display on 4439,it isnt working and I dont think it has worked since it first went into service.
Also the rear display on some of the later Transbus Tridents - 4536 to 4636 {dont quote me on the exact vehicles} have two black vinyl strips on both sides that obscure the numbers so if the service number is three numbers, you cant read them properly,eg when there were Wolverhampton services of three digits,eg 525 or 525e, or Central's 900,900e,you would only see the middle two digits.

4535-4634 it is :) 4635 onwards are Geminis.

Yes I see various Tridents around with the black strips over the back display from WN and it can be a nuisance. Not so much a problem now with the re-numbering of the routes but you still have the 255, 256 and 257 as 3 digits and as all three work similar areas i.e. Kingswinford at the same time and have the same first two numbers it can cause slight confusion. Any idea what they are or why they can't be peeled of or something?

Couldn't they at least, change the size of the dot matrix output, on the 126, some rear displays show 126, as really skinny numbers and some as quite large numbers

Ash

I thought Hanson's and black diamond ran the 226

4504

Yeah, they do. I meant 126  ;D

yeah i thought it was a mistake, i think overall the LED ones are easier to read compared to the dot matrix

Tomjusttom

Cannot remember which one but I saw a WN trident running private with its Sorry Not in Service squashed up the one half on the display

arrivaaston

you should see cannocks 3602, has the orange LED display on the front, 158 displayed on the side and the rear 1 always displays 25 and 3609 has 117 on the side pwermanantley

One of Walsall's Tridents had a problem with its display, but I haven't seen said bus for a couple of years, so whether it's been fixed or been moved elsewhere, I dunno?

Various ones I have seen with faulty displays are

4187 - in the middle, a line from top to bottom that the Dot Matrix does not work.
4833 - faulty seen here (repaired now)

4677 - dead pixels bottom right corner
There was an older Perry Barr Enviro400 that the route displayed on the display used to wobble. (it this makes sense!)
