Ben

It just occured to me that the grey stripes have been omitted on quite few vehicles. Is there any reason for this? (sorry if this topic was already covered)

They were abolished I think in 2012, the last ones being on the 12 reg volvo sheds? The bigger stripes must have been about 2010, I think the AG/YW Omnilinks are the last NEW vehicles to have them but I may be wrong.

Liverpool Street

Do you mean the silver strip between the black branding and red?

Or the NX 'Connexions'

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

The Real 4778

I think he means the connecting bars.

He more than likely means the silver strip, given the bus he has quoted does not have one.

No I think he is refering to the connection bars because he says they are removed off quite a few vehicles

It does seem like that Ben is on about the Connection Bars

I am glad NX stopped applying connection bars on repaints. As most of them are now incomplete with panel replacement

I very much doubt that! We'll find out when the original poster comes online.

Tbh I think the repaints look better without the connection bars (Well when they aren't covered in dirt ;)

Kiewii

I think he means the grey/silver stripe between the red and black on the new Enviros, rather than the connection bars

The connection bars just makes the livery look cluttered and outdated in my opinion

But have the silver/grey stripes been removed off any 63 plate E400's already?

Not removed, just not added in the first place to some
