I've seen a photo of a Routemaster that had a similar thing done to it, can't think what the reason was though.

The only official LT conversion, has made RM1368 famous

It was a victim of arson and was converted to a mechanical test bed vehicle for LT in 1974. replacing RM8 in this role which was then released for public service, I think for the very first time

Well what's odd with the Metrobus is the roof isn't put fully back and the rear of the upper saloon is still exposed. Vehicle now is thought to be deceased.
