Hi,my first post so apologies if this has been covered elsewhere :-)
Just wondered if the Plaxton Presidents are used on Sundays these days,or have they become like the Metrobuses during their twilight years, and used solely Mon to Sat?
Cheers

No Presidents on the 1 on Sundays the 1 is usually single decker operated. AG's Presidents should only be found on the Outer Circle

The 18 sometimes sees 1 or 2 Presidents per day, the 49 is majority Presidents and the 76 gets some Presidents as well

Oops, I thought he was referring to general service, my mistake

I think YW may have used one or two on a Sunday in the past, but I haven't seen any on Sundays in recent times.

AG usually has some Presidents on the 11A/11C on Sundays, alongside Geminis.

Correct, from what I've observed on Sundays, Presidents are only used on the 11A/C, with Geminis also, however by the evening, when the frequency is reduced, it's usually mostly Geminis left out in service.

Presumably, for the same reason that B7RLEs are used on the 1 on Sundays, the Geminis are preferred on the Outer Circle (probably because they are more efficient to run, and less likely to break down - or burst into flames  ::))

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

WB presidents are used on the 5 and there's usually at least 1 on the 83/89 on Sundays. There should be some presidents alongside Geminis on the Outer Circle (11A/11C), are presidents even used on Sundays at YW? There's no need for them to be used

Without wishing to start a debate I'd like to just add that theres more than 1 or 2 Presidents on the 18 monday to saturday, if you see one on the 76 that could probably go in the noteworthy workings thread, the 49 is the most likely place you will find them.. YW so far I believe have only put two Presidents out on sundays. All other gen has been mentioned

I do agree Ashley. You don't see them on the 76 much anymore

The Presidents very occasionally turn up on the 76; there does seem to be an afternoon run though of them as I tend to pass it most days coming home. I'll check what time is it next week.  They turn up on the 76E more often, though not for a few weeks. I prefer the Presidents to the Tridents; well heated and excellent suspension still.
