So why was 4609 given an extensive refurbishment? Poles repainted and brand new seats fitted

Was about to say Nathan that yesterday i travelled on the 49 in Birmingham and it was a President. It had obviously been repainted and the inside was beautifully clean and tidy. Thats what i call a refurbishment.

The Presidents were far more extensively refurbished to bring them up to DDA spec, the work was done at ADL Harlow

Maybe 4609 was just a one off with the painted handrails.

NXWMs definition of refurb amounts to very little tbh, they still come back with graffiti and etching most of the time yet the seats and paintjob are new.

The B6LE's, B10L's and Presidents were proper refurbishments which have definately improved their appearance the past few years. I do have to say some Presidents could do with a floor clean, the AG ones look especially good inside and out still

Just remembered 4609 was repainted/Refurbed with painted handrails due to RTA damage.

Yes i know Matt! I am not stupid you know! Just Wondering as 4606 was parked up in the garage so i was wondering if 4567 will be back within the next few days?

Calm down, I was only trying to help.

4567 will be back when it's finished

You sure about that Matt, have you seen 4197. If that is a finished refurbishment, i am stunned. To me it just looked like a paint job and new seat covers.  :)

That's what a refurb is in NXWM's eyes  ;)

Not always, PB Geminis are looking rather immaculate and appear to have new windows and seat backs as well as the seat covers retrimmed.

Aye, 4499 just released, looks for all the world like a brand new bus.

Same's true of the other recent PB Gem output.
Don't you start.

Liverpool Street

What's the idea of fitting rubber wheel arch trims to buses which never originally had them, and removing them off buses which had them fitted as new?

Its one distinguishing factor between a Transbus and Dennis.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.
