According to the new issue of Buses magazine, an anomaly in the British government's application of EU vehicle type approval rules will give bus and coach manufacturers as much as an extra year after 1 January 2014 to carry on supplying Euro5 vehicles.

That might explain why the supply of Euro 5 dealer stock hasn't been increased to allow operators to take advantage of cheaper Euro 5 vehicles against Euro 6

To correct an error above. Stagecoach have ordered 'conventional' B5LH Hybrids for rotes 54 and 75, not the Euro 6 Gemini which is the subject of this forum. Still a first for Stagecoach I think.
