My idea has always been to take 2 buses off the 59 & operate a 15 minute frequency, and those 2 buses are put on the 126, giving the 126 the same frequency of 15 minutes

Or just operate the 126 with an extra frequency. There are 100's of buses in the garage on Sunday

However, my method would mean no extra buses were needed, by taking unnecessary buses off the 59 and onto the 126 where they would be of more use

Trident 4609

Ok i can see your theory Matt :).But as i have seen and NXWM can also see that all those buses on the 59 are warranted :)

It's not so much to do with loadings, I think one of the main reasons why thr 59 has such a high Sunday frequency is because it is such a short route. As Tony previously explained, passengers often stay on the 126 for a long time (up to 1h 20 min), whereas passengers on the 59 wouldn't stay on for longer than 20 minutes or so, but pay the same fare. The 59 might not be as busy as the 126 but is most likely more profitable, as more single fares will be paid (there are approximately 3.5 59 round trips in the time of one 126 round trip, so in theory 3.5 times more revenue on the 59, if the loadings were the same)

Will the 126 need an every 15 minute frequency on Boxing Day?

I was referring to Sunday service in general, not Boxing Day. It certainly needs a frequency increase on Sundays, it is almost certainly Wolverhampton's busiest route

Oh, I see. Wasn't reading it properly ::). They need to worry about fixing the reliability before introducing a frequency increase >:(, but in all honesty, I rarely use the 126 on a Sunday to comment on it

I wouldn't rule it out, I'm sure WB have the capacity to operate PN's Sunday services on top of their own:

9 - 6 buses
120 - 4 buses
140/241 - 3 buses
141 - 5 buses
222 - 4 buses
243/244 - 3 buses
246 - 4 buses
276 - 5 buses
297E - 1 bus (I think)
X96 - 2 buses

So a total of 37 buses needed

Yeah, it does look like 1 bus referring to the timetable. Is this usually 824 on Sundays?

Good point, that would be a nice idea, you could run it with a Transit! But no, it's rarely anything other than a B7RLE, I did see a Merc about half a year ago.

Maybe WB operate it with PE drivers.

I really hope so! I don't see why the trading estate would open up this year. Sunday services running this year as well could mean WB buses operating on routes like the 244, which did not operate last year. It would be great seeing a Gemini on the 244!

Knowing your luck Matt, WB will send a Merc!

Depending on how many buses were/weren't avaliable at WB, it could be the case the full sunday service gets spit, ie BC could do the 9/141? Just guessing though probably won't happen!
