Has anyone got any photos of Boxing Day services from previous years? Other than Tom's photo of 1706 I can't find anything on Flickr.

I'm pretty sure I showed you my pic of 1632 on the 9!

Is it on your Flickr?

No, I don't use flickr anymore.

Wasn't it a WB Merc that appeared on the 9 though, due to WB operating PN's services?

1632 was at WB last Boxing Day

Oh... feels like forever 1632's been here.

I remember being showed a picture of a Gemini on the 9 on Colmore Row as well, but again can't find anything on Flickr...

That was me, I have loads of WB/PE boxing day pics. Hopefully will get a few more this year, depending on how things go!

I didn't have the sense to even go out the house Boxing Day last year, but will make sure I'm out this year snapping everything I see!

With the 140 interworking with the 246 and Geminis on the 276

Did the 241 or 244 operate on Boxing Day last Year?

No, neither did

Gareth

Bordesly operated their own routes last year. But not in 2011. Was good to see Tridents return to the 55 :-)

The 120 could possibly see Presidents this year, as well as the 83/89  ;D
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

The last few years I've been at my parents house on Boxing Day, WB have used a mix of Mercs, Geminis and Presidents on the 120.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

I imagine with the increased Sunday type services and full garage capacities that the Brum Garages will probably all operate their own routes. I could be wrong though.

I remember 2011, the 120E to Langley was on its own board (didn't interwork with the full 120) the bus on the 120E that year was 1538

A few years ago, was at Merry Hill and saw a 222 (Merc from WB) and the driver had an A to Z in his cab.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Which was the first year to see NXWM operating services on Boxing Day? I'm asking as Nath thinks it was 2004, whereas I thought it was a little later.

Gareth

I also think it was later. I recall always asking for Boxing Day off work when I was living at home because I couldn't get to work, and asking to work when I was living at work because I couldn't get home that day.

I wonder how long it will be till its Normal Sunday Service on Boxing Day, perhaps beginning a little later.

Well i have a few old leaflets for Boxing Day service and one is definetley 2005 and i have found out the other timetable was 2007 (Not 2004) so it was most likley 2005 when boxing day service started

Gareth

2005 would make sense. However that year I was living and working in Wychbold and there was no 144 service to Birmingham.
