Looks as though it's a fire in the engine compartment,

Not knock PE, nothing has combusted for a few months, that said bonfire night is looming......  ;)

Burn Volvo Burn, B7 inferno!

Always a pleasure to see one of these hateful things burn.

I wonder if the overheating alarm was sounding lol

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Shame, the Presidents really heralded the fleet modernisation back in the tail end of the nineties, after the Spectra false dawn.  Would be a pity to see another one go.
Don't you start.

I'd rather have a B7TL over a Trident any day, and would also take a President over a Gemini any day. Every person is different though.

Fair enough, and oddly I'd rather a B7RLE over any bus. Except Metros, but that's a different era.

Looking at the update image, I guess this thing will not be repaired.

Abluhwleh

Anyone have any idea what it is about the Presidents that seem to make them extra combustible?

winston

Was the first image before the fire really took hold?

Don't like B7RLE's!! But Metros were a class above the rest.

Looks like it's been put out, you may need a Facebook account to view the above link.

I would like to see it repaired, but I can not see it somehow. I do like the Presidents from a passegners point of view.

Was it on the 1 or the 11 at the time?

It was not in service, and was heading back to the garage. There were no passengers on board.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

i like it how everyone seems to be experts when it comes to things like this.

One comment is "Over revved engine glad no one hurt", how does this person know this, if it was NIS then the only person who knows exactly what happened would be the driver.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).
