As discussed on the 'shortie' National thread. With Tony's permission, i'm uploading my combined fleet list onto this forum. Due to upload size issues, I've had to split it into 6 parts. Download each of the 6 pdf's & you'll have a complete* list of all the buses (& Trolleys / Trams!) since the formation of the p.t.e. back in 1969! Part 1 is attached to this message.

A long-term aim for me is to expand this list to include individual allocation histories for each vehicle. Therefore, if you are looking to dispose of psv circle newssheets for the areas listed below, then i'd be pleased to hear (via pm) from you.

Midland Major Operators 1969-1991
Midlands 1992-2007
Greater London 1994-5, 1998-2000, 2004-7
Northern 1994-6
Eaastern 1994-6
Scotland 1997-2007

* Usual caveat, any corrections for errors/omissions are gratefully received.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

It was 3751 but I cannot remember if it was a fire or an accident.

There were a number of early Fleetline withdrawals including 3385 w69, 3417 w72, 3445 w74, 3531 w71 (chassis later used with new body as 5531) and 3533 w72. In all these cases withdrawal followed a fire or accident.

Dave, Also want to say what a great job you have done!

I've been contacted by someone off-group who has kindly offered to supply most if not all of the missing news sheets that I require & work has now begun on my long-held wish to compile a new version to include chassis/body numbers & allocation histories. This will be a mammoth job (in the region of 400-500 A4 pages) & I don't expect completion before next year.

I'll be looking at ways of making it available (if anyone's interested) nearer the date, though it's highly unlikely to be a free download due to the size!

Gareth

Sounds like a massive job! Good luck with getting everything completed.
I'm sure there will be enough of us to contribute to a copy. I have an earlier version of yours that dates to 1997 when 1401-'1500' are in delivery.

Dave - your hard work is appreciated. A fleet list with Crossleys - now you're talking! I remember chasing 2471 and 2505 in their last summer in 1969, out Monday - Friday peaks only. If you've read that Crossleys are slow, you should have been on one bucketing down from Kingstanding on its way back to the depot (PB) at about ten to six...
