Much light Edinburgh's Express 100 Airport Shuttle, my idea's quite similar. Route 100 should run between Coventry (Pool Meadow) to Wolverhampton (Bus Station, near St. Georges), via Birmingham City Centre.

Main Stop Points: Cov to Wolves

- Pool Meadow
- International Airport
- Chelmsley Wood
- Small Heath
- then BACK UP to Tyseley, via Coventry Road
- Small Heath, (37 Route, FROM SOLIHULL)
- City Centre (Main Stopping Points, i.e. BullRing, Priory Q'way, etc...)
- Hockley
- Perry Barr
- New Oscott
- Kingstanding / Streetly
- Walsall
- Willenhall
- Wolverhampton (Bus Station)

It might seem like a horrible idea, but in my opinion, i'd love this service... The route number, if not 100, could be 300 or 500? ??? ::)

A route like that needs to be express, so skip Tyseley
.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

I would use the A34 flyovers (X51 route) to Walsall and go down Black Country Route and Keyway  as there can be traffic build up in Willenhall then onto Willenhall Rd

I highly doubt it would work.

I guess this service could be split like the 51 (X51 & 51) like, X100 then the rgular 100. "EXPRESS" in the topic title was only meant to compare this made up service to Lothian's 100 Express to their Airport...

Which doesn't try to cover every suburb of Lothian

Bob

Isnt it just airport to city centre with a handful of stops?

Sh4318

Wolverhampton to Coventry would be a lot quicker by train
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

Surely TWM tried it with Airbus?? City to Airport quick

It's one of those, a nice idea on paper, but simply not practical from an operational or logistical view.

For passengers wishing to travel direct from Coventry to Wolverhampton, the train is a far quicker journey.

And for all those passengers using parts of the service inbetween, there are already services that cover those areas.

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Of course that was my point...  ??? lol, it was only practical. it was one of my 'what about a cov to wolves route' idea.

If you could make up this route, what would it look like?

To be honest, I wouldn't bother. However if someone put a gun to my head, I'd say a '926' service, and just combine the 126 and 900 together.

I think they could use the route number 100 for something better then a pointless extra long service.

A Small Heath serving, all stopping, version of the 900 possibly? :-)
