A 74E has pulled into West Bromwich heading to Great Bridge
It most likely due to the over tired lorry at j1 been cleared now
Local routes
74-Dudley -great bridge-west Brom-soho road-hockey-Birmingham
87-Dudley-tividale-oldbury-smethick-Dudley road , city hosp, Birmingham
126-Dudley-Birchley island-bearwood-Birmingham
14- Dudley - Oakham -whiteheath- blackheath- Quinton - helsowen
14A- Dudley - Oakham ( city road ) - blackheath - oldhill - Cradley Heath- quarry bank - merry hill

:D

How is service number decided if the E working to specific location has more than 1 service numbers serving it following the same route all way from origin terminus?

For example, 60E terminating at Swan on Sundays could have been 58E and if you push it, 59E too. I assume the 60 is chosen because it's less confusing on timetables as the 60 only runs on Sundays alternating terminating at either Swan or Cranes Park. But what happens in other cases? What happens if it's untimetabled?

Untimetabled E's are usually a bus already on the route, being radioed to run short.

In other cases, where there is a shortage of buses, I.e 10 11As bunched up in Perry Barr, the garage will send out a duplicate to commence from say Bearwood and have the original bus its replacing run as an 11e or vice versa.

In your scenario are you basically saying why isn't it a 75E to West Brom rather than a 74E? Probably because the bus was already on a 74.

Last night I saw a 474* E400 on an 87E to Oldbury even about 21:30 this is normally a full route journey unless the driver put the wrong destination up of course.
Saw it while waiting on Colmore Row for the 140

The 87 doesn't serve Bearwood though.

It was Oldbury not Bearwood as the 82 goes to Bearwood. When I had posted it I thought something was not quite right. Cheers @Mike K. I have changed my original quote too
