Think they also recover the seats at Miller Street
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

The Offices on site house several Training Rooms and the Revenue Department.

Don't they look after the Training fleet alongside Walsall too? I'm sure the revenue staff are also based there in the offices, although if anyone is the expert it's Tony!

As has already been stated, the main building has several training rooms (used by both bus & coach) and the offices house Revenue Protection (people can go to pay their fines at Miller Street as well) and at least used to have some Service Delivery functions?

Previously, the site was used for storage of many more vehicles than currently, and was also once an operational depot.

Westy

I remember 51 drivers changing by there years ago.

Until 1986 it was a normal garage. What is now the building where they maintain the training vehicles was the 'light car section' where all non-bus vehicles were maintained. That was when the PTE owned all the cars they used NXWM now lease cars. What is now the revenue office used to be the central lost property office where all lost property from Birmingham routes went.

In October 1986 it reopened as a minibus depot with 36 Sherpas on the current side of the road with the main depot used for storage. At a date I cannot remember the minibuses moved out and  Central Coachways moved down from Walsall. The former lost property office later became the 'London Liner' booking office and passenger lounge and part of the main garage became a customer car park.

When Central Coachways was sold to Flights London Liner stayed there initially and Yourbus (Smiths) moved in. London Liner later moved to BC then PB before finishing.

When Tyburn Road closed the trimshop which repairs seats moved from there to the old Lost property storage area and is still there

When Yourbus finished it stayed in use by reserve fleet, maintaining the training fleet which it does now. The office became the Revenue department with the training department also using some of the ground floor offices.

A couple of years back all the upper floor was refurbished as the NX Training academy with Service support also based there.

And the current state is.

Reserve fleet stripping parts off redundant buses and doing all maintenance on the training fleet. Trimshop doing all seat repairs. Service support (Inspectors) nominally based there and the Revenue department looking after the Standard fare system there.

I started there.  Services 7 46,51,52,59,65,66,67,114,115 based there.  When Sutton Garage closed all the Sutton Lines came there.  When Miller St closed, I was transferred to Perry Barr on Walsall Road routes. Happy Days.  The 51 has been moved about between Walsall and Birmingham Garages over the years.
Sorry for the history lesson, but ah, memories.
