That's what we are all dreading, more single deckers on routes than normally use double deckers. I hope nobody replies with 'better than no bus at all' because there's nothing worse than a crowded single decker !

Well, at least I'll be out of the picture for a few days, as I've tested positive!

Happy New Year :(

Surely no bus at all is worse than a crowded bus?

When you've witnessed what Covid-19 does, which I have and it's scared me more than anything in my life then a no bus at all is best, I've let full single deckers go past and walked instead, this I why I won't use the 28 (Scott Arms-Heartlands Hospital) during the daytime.

If you want to go to scotts arms, just go and take a different route other than the 28 in daytime

You do realise that means taking a longer journey... most services the 28 crosses with go to the City Centre so it would be longer by catching that bus to the City then waiting for another to get there... The majority of the areas that the 28 serves it is the only service that goes there from those areas so there's not really much of a direct alternative...

[wishful thinking]
They *could* use the spare drivers and Omnilinks to give a much needed increased frequency on the 28....

Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

According to the NX website, among todays changes, some additional evening peak journeys have been added to the 66.

I know that doesn't help passengers on the 28, but at least there's hope!

Evening peak on 66 is still every 15 mins. From Erdington into town early evening frequency has been increased from every 60 to 30 mins between 7 and 9 PM, and a new 20.00 journey from City.
The BC X21/X22 timetable also shows a higher 7/8 minute frequency at University Station heading towards City between 4.00 and 4.30 in the evening peak.

This evening (5th Jan) I saw in City at about 7PM:
1831 on the X3/X4/X5 Sutton routes. On a X4 to Falcon Lodge at the time.
1905 on the 16.
Local Routes
94/95, 11A/11C, 28.

7031 on the X4 today. Scanias might become more common now with the 96 withdrawn  maybe though as 1831 was on yesterday.

More to do with the Covid problems again, remember engineers are just as likely to be off as drivers, so buses aren't getting repaired as quickly soometimes, so its a case of using what buses are fit.
