I belive the code for dudley is 200-299 i would introduce a x200 wich gose from dudley - merry hill only stopping at dudley bus station - russels hall hospital - merry hill bus station it would come every 5-10 mins offering a quick and often service between a busy bus station and a busy shopping centre. Yes it would make the 222 less popular but realisticly how many people stay on for the whole journey? it would follow the 246 route until it turns right just after Russels hall hops. it would carry on straight down joining up with the x96 and go through the waterfront and into merry hill. I thought about it and it would take around 20-25 mins and also it would be the quickest bus from merry hill that stops at russles hall hosp.

Not completley slating the idea but you already have a number of fast links to Russells hall/Merry Hill.

You have the 246 already every 8-10 minutes linking Dudley and Russells Hall around (I timed it at 5-10 minutes from Dudley-Russells Hall) plus less direct/frequent routes like the 205/222 linking Dudley-Russells Hall Hosp and Merry Hill(222)

Also the X96 doesn't really take that long to get to Merry Hill plus you have 243,276,81 etc already serving Dudley-Merry Hill but taking different routes.

Its great to see you have an idea that you have shared with us and its not that bad an idea but in my opinion there just isn't a demand for an Express Service between Dudley and Merry Hill

What you have to ask though is how many passengers want to go from Russells Hall to Merry Hill non-stop, I would imagine the 6 buses an hour would be more than the number of passengers

As Nathan stated above, there is already direct access between Dudley, Russell's Hall Hospital & Brierley Hill (ala 246), and there are also relatively quick services to Merry Hill in the X96 & 276. While the suggestion in theory, seems like a great idea, I don't think it would be required

The X96 was once non stop after Woodside, but additional stops have since been added

I find the 297 is a quick way from Russells Hall to Merry Hill and if there is one in, will get off the 222, which I catch as it goes by my house and switch to a 297 to cut out all the faffing about in Pensnett
