Recent WN garage News

4559 will be back in service tommorow. 4312 is now back at its original home and may also be out tommorow

4310 and 4575 are the only buses I know are in the paintshop from Park Lane currently unless 4579 has finally gone in?

4544 and 4545 have both had new engine fitted. Both Standard Euro 3 replacements

Also I noticed that for some time 2070 has had its CCTV TV screen missing and I have been trying to work out where it had gone. It turns out it was "stolen!". The CCTV moniter will be replaced at some point

I will be on the lookout for 4579 over the weekend too :) Also as I said 4559 will be out on its first day fresh from repaint tommorow and 4312  may also come out to play after coming back to WN from YW so you may see those on the 126 over the weekend :)

Edit: On a different note Park Lane Garage tested a B7RLE round the new 62/A route last Saturday to see how it could cope round the route so may answer the question people have been asking about how the 62A could get up the busway in Perton. I can't be sure at present but B7's may well become the allocation of the 62 and 62A so the 62A can get up the bus way. 2067 once made it onto the 62 and it got round there so I can't see a problem.

Also Rob I have been told 4579 is now in for repaint/refurb so its the end of the TWM circle livery

Also as said 4559 will be out today and maybe 4312.

mranon

there was 2 junctions making it awkward to use anything other than solos 1, the left turn out of hordern rd into aldersley road when they had solos - this was changed when the b6 appeared. the next one is the crossroads at the top of the holloway/school road. it is a very tight turn whether it be left or right

The problem is even a Solo could be trouble at the Wood Road/School Road junction especially if there is queuing traffic that don't understand the space a bus needs to manouvre  :P Yes there are other tight corners on routes where B7's are used for example on the 81 from Merry Hill the left turn onto Church Road, Netherton but also I guess due to low/variable patronage on the 62 another reason for using smaller buses. I have been told today (from a reliable source (if such a thing exists)) that the 62 will still be B6 operated
Although to bear in mind much info received often changes is exaggerated or is simply a decoy from the reality. Either way we will all know on the 26th Jan what's what  ;D

Well unless the B6's are fitted with transponders then B7s will be the only type of bus able to get through the per ton Bus Lane. As I said last Saturday they were taking a B7RLE round the rout to test if they are suitable.

I saw 2068 parked on Pipers Row about 09:40 filled with drivers. I was thinking route training for the changes next Sunday?

Indeed it was and as none of the B6 have transponders then obviously a B7 has been used for route training round Perton. It does not mean B7's will be used on the new route however. I have been told it will be B6 operated

Once again, I am lost which Wolverhampton Tridents are left in TWM livery  ::) A lot have been coming and going the last few months, so I have lost track of them all

Am I right in saying that
4312, 4555, 4557, 4558, 4560, 4561, 4562, 4564, 4567, 4569-73, 4587-90, 4592 and 4594-6 are still in old livery (all of these are from my fleetlist, so some may be done that I don't know of)

I know that
4310, 4559, 4575, 4579 are either nearly done or completed very recently

John,

I agree with the above list, except 4567 has already been done

Great, thanks Winston  :D

Think I've found a solution to the 62A in Perton... Have it wait outside til a 10 comes then sneak in behind it

(was a joke...)
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

4559 should have been back in service yesterday and 4575/79 should be a while yet. 4310 will be back soon.

Apart from 4567 which is in NX livery (Bright shade of red and black dot moquette). Apart from that yes all the buses you mentioned are still in TWM livery :)

4006, That would mean if the 62/A is still B6 operated from 26th Jan then transponders will have to be fitted to some B6's else the 62A will not be able to extend to Perton

Ashley

John, 4567 was refurbished during 2013

Nathan, B7RLE's will definately not be allocated to 62/62A. Drivers think they're too big. The Wood Road/School Road turning is a nightmare for anything bigger than a car. Plus, the patronage is too low to warrant a full size single decker. B6's will have transponders fitted and that's not a bad thing but that's my own view plus anybody with sense

Yes I already knew that since the other day :) it appears B7's won't be allocated so surely Transponders must be fitted to some B6's else the 62A can't get through to Perton. I did wonder about the tight turnings on the 62A as you say B6's struggle round those corners. I didn't think it seemed that likle for B7's to be put on the route as you said tight corners and low patronage so certainly the best thing to do is to fit transponders to the B6's

PS I would definetley ride a B6 any day over a B7RLE ;)

Forgot to say seen 4559 on 126 about 4:3 at castle gate
