While I was on 4821 this afternoon I noticed this seat was a different colour to the standard grey.  :-\

is this a new colour they're going with or just a quick replacement as I haven't seen them on any other buses yet.

I did see once on a YW Trident, one of the seats had got a grey handlebar like on the WB ALX200s but I've never seen a whole back panel before!

Liverpool Street

Ooh, looks smart. Reminds me of the pre-refurbished class 323's in Centro livery going back a bit.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

More than likely just a replacement & didn't have the correct colour in stock,

personally I like it better than the dark grey, but it is more likely to be a vandalism target.

I remember when the Presidents used to be on the 9, some of the seats had metal plates screwed onto the back. I assume this was to cover up broken plastic if they couldn't get replacements, unless there was some other reason?

A few B10Ls have had this treatment on the seats infront of the back rows, I reckon it might be to stop any vandals damaging the backs!

From what I saw it just gave them something else to draw on

So did the earlier B10L refurb's, they had aluminium chequer plate riveted to the seat backs, no doubt masking burns. Later B10L refurb's had the grey plastic seats replaced with new blue one's

If Yardley Woods are anything to go by, I think you're right! :P Still it stops them burning them ;)

I didn't realise mercs had them too!

They are a nuisance for my long legs though as my knees fit nice and snug into the big gap on the back of those seats!

Trident 4609

I've noticed also on a few PE E400 's that some of the seat backs on the high seated backs downstairs are blue

Some of them do, 1587 and 1613 spring to mind, I think they're withdrawn now though
