6826 is one of the X1 with revised destination displays with larger number and emphasis on speedy journey.

Much improved. Why they didn't put it like that when the buses were new I don't know, much easier to read even for those with fair eyesight.
I also noticed that we're back to the 20 minute frequency of the 900 that we enjoyed in the late naughties!
Is this permanent or just for the summer timetable?

The only thing left that could be improved on the X1 would be mute buttons for individual 'next stop speakers' so I don't have to sit directly/indirectly under a speaker. [That or have a volume control of some description.]

There were several Single Deck Volvos on the 63 today, probably as a result of the cricket shuttles taking deckers. I saw at least 4 whilst doing two 144s today. Possibly may have been a loaned YW Trident on the 63 too as the didnt think BC had 43** ones, may be wrong though on that.
BC have 4384 and 4385 now @j789.

Cheers. I wasn't sure as as 43** just didn't seem right for BC.

Not sure what other bus drivers on here think about this but being an enthusiast as well as a driver definitely gets some funny looks from passengers when you stop at a bus stop for no reason (other than to check out 'noteworthy workings' on other routes!!!)

Oh lord, the cricket yesterday caused lots of mayhem for Bristol and Pershore Rd routes.

On another note, I feel there are too many single deckers now at BC. Weve lost the 58 and 59 which were mainly single decker routes and instead of loosing single deckers have lost double deckers. Now single deckers are appearing on double deck routes such as the 63, 60, 97 and the 24 and 29 are almost all single deck now.

Any thoughts...

Maybe it's because buses are getting new brandings from  the East Brum changes and plus you don't know what they will make up (called consultation) for the south west changes.

Why were Cricket shuttles causing issues? Also I think that due to the Euro emissions in city centre, some early tridents that BC had have now gone, and b7rles are compliant. I said that point about the 24 and 29 before about overcrowding but apparently they cope fine with B7rles. I beg to differ

Where have all the deckers disappeared to? There's still some on the 24 but the 29 seems to be all singles. Which is already proving to be hilarious at times.

They've been withdrawn / transferred elsewhere

Presumably the cricket caused issues because of traffic along those routes.

The 24 seems to manage ok with some single deckers because there are still a number of double deckers on there and it has a 10 min frequency. As regards the 29, under the old 10 minute frequency it managed just about but when buses were late they quickly became overcrowded. With the now 15 minute frequency I don't think single deckers are adequate, particularly at peak times from what I've seen.

I wonder whether the current imbalance of single deckers at BC will be addressed when the next batch of new vehicles arrive - whenever that might be.

The cricket shuttles wernt causing issues it was heavy traffic and increased passengers.
