Must admit it was weird to hear '63 to Frankley' earlier on 6840 (though even weirder to hear "Northfield Baths" as it's not been called that in some time).

Got me thinking though what's stopping the Hybrids from doing these announcements too as it seems like a waste. Is it that they've not been used in some time and would cost money to sort out?

They have an out of date system that is difficult to update

Ah, I see. That's a real shame to be honest, I love the Hybrid Geminis.

Any idea what system? HANCIS?

Any views/comments are my own and do not reflect those of my employer.

Now it makes sense why the (ex)E400Hs could utilise them. It's a shame really that the hybrids can't. Is it not feasible to convert the system to an easier one?

76 - Northfield
X20 - Birmingham Via Longbridge, Northfield & QE Hospital / University

Will the X20 & X21 be rerouted to serve Harborne Lane in both directions once it becomes a two way system soon? Makes sense as they don't serve the Bristol Road, Chapel Lane stop anyway.

I've seen the X20/X21 and the 11 using the new road this morning so it looks like Chapel Lane may no longer be served. Didn't see a 48 but reasonable to assume it'll follow the 11?

Harborne Lane is now a two way carriageway. Chapel Lane will also be converted from one way by the end of November but downgraded in terms of usage, it will only serve Battery Park and the proposed apartment complex on the old Sainsbury's site.

FINALLY! I guess interchanging with the 61 and 63 will be trickier now but hopefully it will speed up journey times.

Disappointingly it looks like it's only a temporary diversion.

Saw an X12 come into City Centre via James Watt Queensway earlier with passengers. Not seen one come into City Centre via Aston Expressway before. Only going that way outbound.
Was a 694X. Maybe 6949.
