Maybe it has something to do with the E400's going away for Euro 6 conversion
BC might not have enough till the B7RLE have gone, now the X21 is also Platinum maybe?
Maybe BC will get the ones off the X7 with it being withdrawn, or some extra new ones?
Local Routes
94/95, 11A/11C, 28.

Not often anyone says this but the running time for the 23/24 between city and Five Ways, Calthorpe Road seems very generous. Most evenings most buses have to wait time on Calthorpe Road, and tonight 6949 was 8 minutes early arriving there. So early in fact that the driver gave passengers to Harborne the option to change to the 24 behind instead.

Edit: not sure if it's a directive issued to drivers but twice now on the 23 this week drivers have used the intercom system to tell passengers they're running early and how long they need to wait time (both times at Five Ways!). Good idea - might stop the d***heads who sit there repeatedly pressing the bell thinking the bus will move off on their whim.

I probably should have made a note of the fleet numbers, but I travelled on two different Platinum vehicles on the X20 today (Longbridge to Cofton Hackett, then Rednal to Northfield) and neither had any audio/visual announcements/displays.
Its all of the Platinums at BC @Stu. I'm yet to see one that has announcements for the X20.
Its because the announcements are connected to the destination displays. They used to display Rednal, but a few weeks back they changed the services and the displays to show Cofton Hackett, but never set up the announcements.

They've still got announcements for the X21 and X22, as they haven't changed the destination displays for those routes.

6949 had visual announcements today but no sound.

Must have been a new driver though as he attempted to go down Weoley Avenue before being told by an elderly couple at the side of the road that it's closed and to use the diversion, meaning he had to reverse back up the road.
Guess the X21 using the diversion the other way and the 2 big road signs weren't enough.
Local Routes: 002, 39/39A, X21, 46, 76.
Localish Routes: 18, 23, X22.

No BC bus has announcements for the X70 either as far as I know @Sh4318.
Only the, X21, X22, X1, X2, 23 and 24.
They've never set them up.

You forgot the X20
Before they updated it to a more London style one, the 61 and 63 had them, and I heard some rumors that the 45/7 had them ad well.
Not from what I've seen since they updated the changed the displays to show Cofton Hackett. Numerous Platinums don't seem to have it at least.

I'm wondering how long the x70 is going to be around in current form to be fair, seems to be a platinum route that tends to get not as much attention and focus as others and always when I see it in castle Brom with light loads.
