From my little tour of North Brum and Walsall today:

4733 (toothpaste enviro) - 10/10A
Unidentified E400's on 301 and 302 (saw one on each)
4126 (possibly, was a bit rushed) - 89
1699 - 5 (been a while since I've seen a merc there)

Tridents are usual on the 89 Mon-Sat

Fair enough, only ever seen Eclipses
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

It's not uncommon for there to be more Tridents on the 8/89 than B7RLEs Mon-Sat.

On Sunday, the 8 is run by Arriva I think, meaning NXWM run the 89 on its own, with 2 buses, B7RLEs and Omnilinks are common on Sundays. Last Sunday it was one B7RLE and one Omnilink

Yes Matt arriva operate an 8A to bloxwich evenings and sundays. The 89.uses two buses on sundays with 1762 being one of them today.

1816? 1836? An 18xx on the 16 today. Is that rare?

Both of those are at Bordesley The Rat

7020 and 7023 (I think) were also on the 16 as well.

1836 is at PB

It is usual to get a decker on there on a Sunday. It is usually an Enviro400

2082 and 2092 are on the 243/4 today - does this imply that more B6s have been withdrawn?

Also, 1641 is strangely on the 297E today; surely they have spare B7RLEs

Ashley 4569

They probably do, but Mercs are much much better

From an operational point of view, Mercs are certainly not much better, as having them out unnecessarily on a day like this risks more breakdowns/fires when a B7RLE would be a much safer alternative

To be honest, I really dislike the mercs they have a horrid dark interior that rattles a lot, they rust and are tired looking buses. They also lean which b10ls dont seem to do even though they are older-much better buses by far
