Often people mention about certain buses braking down but just wondered is there a specific bus that always seems to end up on the back of a mansfield truck more times than any other?

4017!

Also, 4812 is the least reliable Enviro, and 502 and 508 the B6s

Sh4318

I've never experienced a breakdown before
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

Trident 4609

4006 and 4017 are the Spectras that seem to break down the most (On the 59 at least).

502 is another one along with a few other PE B6's.

And te B5's are unreliable. They've broken down on the 59 no end of times with the last time being yesterday as 5413 suddenly appeared later in the day on the 59 in place of 5510 which was the bus originally was 5510.

When the sun  comes out to play 4580 goes kaput

4740 was being towed back to YW today as it had given up! I believe the replacement was 4311 but can't confirm, I just happened to see it heading along Alcester Road towards Maypole, Not In Service, about 1 hour later.

This is off topic. Post it in the breakdown thread please

What me making a point that 4740 is unreliable as its broken down and needed a tow? yeah ok......

Sorry if i offended you. Let me rephrase it, Is this bus a regually unreliable bus or just a one off breakdown.

I honestly didn't mean to say it in a horrible way.

1540 used to unreliable, the engine changed in some way, now it's one of PE's best mercs - in my opinion

I agree. I do prefer the Older R and S reg mercs to the newer T and V reg mercs

B5s are not unreliable, they have not broken down 'loads of times'.

There is no way anyone other than the engineering staff will know the answer to the posted question, Certainly a passenger cannot answer that. Sometimes when people see buses parked up it can be for something as simple as a vomit that needs cleaning up, or a vandalised seat, just waiting for a man in a van to come and sort it out, nothing to do with bus reliability.

I second that! I had it the other day and it was not only quite fast, but overrevving too (more than the other R/S reg Mercs), love that bus. 1515 is another good one. 1515, 1520, 1521 and 1540 are my favourite PN Mercs

So is overrevving a good thing, from an Engineering and Operations point of view?  ???

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Volvo's are obviously very reliable in the UK then, as that thing never comes out.......  :P
