How is the 27 doing these days? It always looks so empty when I see it.

I have seen several full peak time 27s down Harborne Park Road, near to the start of the route, so clearly a lot of people still using it from Harborne onwards. I'd imagine that the same number of people would use it between Harborne and Northfield as the 29 had as there is little frequency or route difference.

The 48 also goes to Northfield from harborne. How does the 48 do regards loadinga? Busy between West Brom and QE but unsure on past that.

The 48 route from Harborne to Northfield passes through most of Western Europe (well QE Hospital, Selly Oak, Bournville, Cotteridge, Pool Farm, Hawkesley, West Heath and Turves Green to be precise) so nobody in their right frame of mind would use it between those two places. You'd be quicker walking. So it isn't an alternative to the 27 in that respect.

Haha yes it is very windy that route. Imagine if they decided to combine the 48 and 49 at Northfield, now that would take in pretty much every street in the West Midlands!

Not necessarily unless there's still a fair few willing to get the  23/24 into Harborne and then change. Some people have probably found alternatives.

Localish Routes: 18, 23, X22.

I'd throw it out there that an extension of the 27 up beyond Harborne to Five Ways could placate those still complaining about the loss of the 29
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

You'd probably never see the 27 if that happened.

I'll be honest I didn't think that through at all...  I was only thinking about the old 29 section, completely forgetting the stretch beyond Northfield. My bad.
29 as was, just not all the way to city.

If you go from Northfield to Five Ways though you might as well just carry on into City.

When I was at YW, I actually suggested that before the changes but was told it wasn't possible due to traffic conditions.
