Enviro 200 2240 was on the 50 this afternoon, never seen one on there before so guessing very rare. I also saw a branded E400 on the 18 route so these may possibly have swapped routes at some point today.

Further to this, again today at least 2 Tridents were on the 50 route seen in Druids Heath. Are YW short of E400s at the moment as over the last couple of weeks I have seen a fair few other types of vehicles used on the route and before that it was always very rare to see this. Also, the 18 seems to have more E200s on now too which is perhaps maybe related.

Fear not, they'll be due a batch of new E400MMC Platinums for the 50 shortly (I'm convinced that's not rumour).

No problem Tony, I'm going to report this to NX West Midlands anyway, I was just wondering if you might have had any insight in the meantime. ;)

Same journey did not turn up this morning again, and only a timetabled departure was shown on the app.  >:(

I haven't studied the timetable in detail, but I am presuming that this journey is part of some extra peak board that runs, as the 2 and 3 seem to run to odd times between 8am and 9am towards city.

It's not such a hardship for me as its only a few extra minutes walk up to Yardley Wood Road to get the 2, but it does impact on loadings further up the route when the 3 journey doesn't run as timetabled.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

There were two E400MMCs on the 2 and 3 today, as well as a couple of E200MMCs. There's definitely something going on at YW, see my comments about a specific 3 journey not even running in the morning.

Plus YW lost 6123 & 6124 to PN in Sept.

One of the E400MMCs was on the board that should do the 07:58 journey to city. The one you were waiting for. don't know what happened to that particular journey from home.

Do YW still have the reserve 'Y' reg Tridents as haven't seemed them for a while. Perhaps they are short of deckers so more Single deckers around on formally all decker routes like the 18. The 18s I sometimes see in the morning are heavily loaded with school children and single deckers do not seem ideal on the route.

They're at Birmingham Central now.
They've certainly both been on the 14 a few times now.

I've been seeing them a lot on the X70 too.

4550 was on the 50 in evening peak

The water main/sewerworks at Haunch lane on the 18 route seemed to be cauing quite a few problems today. I was at the Yardley Wood bus garage stop at 11:54 for the 11:55 journey. It didn't show as far as I am aware. The 12:05 journey also didn't show or was running late.

Eventually an 18 did show just before 12:15 (4591) and we set off, sadly the diversion plus quite heavy traffic meant that we were further delayed. Just after Northfield I heard the driver say that he was being turned at Bangham Pit, so i decided to get off and wait for the bus behind along with several other people. This bus was right behind and we soon caught 4591 up and overtook, not excatly what had been planned.

When I got off at Bartley Green, what should turn up but 4591 with passengers still on board.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Hmm.. I'm sure that this isn't a rumour and that it's been confirmed.

Yes that's correct.
Tony has already confirmed the 50 is getting new vehicles and said YW are getting a batch of new E400 MMC, as are PN for the 9 and X10, on top of  BC for the X70 and CV for the 11/11U/12X. With 6101 to 6110 staying at PN and 6111 to 6148 going to Acocks Green for the 11A and 11C.
If you have a have a look at the main site and there is a list of which platinums are on order for which depot.

But at the time of @Mike K's post (nearly 3 weeks ago now), it hadn't been confirmed yet
