Received a reply from Centro concerning the bus stop pole outside Yardley Wood Garage showing route 50, they have said that The Green Bus have diverted there 50 service from 27 April 2014 so that they call at that stop???

Might be a school service, in a similar way that FW1 & FW7 journeys were partially renumbered 22S.

Have checked the 50 TGB timetable, one journey in calls at that stop each evening?

Any journeys in the opposite direction in the morning?

No Matt, its the 17:33 from City to Maypole island returning at 18:08 from The Maypole, Monday to Saturday.

Given no extra time then

no, none
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Still doesn't explain the 50 at the stop by Kings Heath park or the church, unless the 50 is going to zig zag across the Alcester Road and back again, and even then they are on the wrong side of the road! :/

There is a 16:59 & 19:29 service from Druids Heath to City run by TGB, could this use these stops?

Hmmm that is a possibility,it's also possible that if they have started diverting odd 50 journeys here there and everywhere, one of the Maypole - Brums turns off somewhere before Howard Road, and uses Grove road to serve King Edward VI, tbh I have no idea. It doesn't help Centro have not updated the timetables at these stops to show any 50s whatsoever!

Noticed 4390 the other day (it's not hard to miss now it has an LED destination display!) appears to have had the front repainted, as it looked shiny and new, but the sides hadn't been touched, different shade of red, and still has the 'connection bars'. Any reason why it didn't get a full repaint, just front end damage repaired?

As far as I am aware it was just front end damage which was repaired after a crash. I assume to get it back in service as soon as possible just the front end was repainted.

Only the red on the front was repainted. The red on the sides of the bus is the older shade of red

Last few days I've noticed an increased number of Omnilinks being used on the 2 and 3 services; today while having a smoke outside work on Bradford Street, I saw one going past me on the 3 to Shirley Green Business Park, with what looked like two NX inspectors on board, one standing in the buggy area, and another seated towards the back, both wearing orange hi-vises. Is some kind of passenger monitoring exercise being carried out, to see whether these services cope with single-decks I wonder?

Oh ok, it's just I've noticed NX staff on a couple of these buses over the last week or so, at first I wondered if they were route training new drivers, and then with all the Omnilinks I saw yesterday I wondered if they were planning somehow to make the 2 and 3 single deck! Just me jumping to conclusions then, as revenue inspectors are normally 'static' at targeted bus stops, though I guess having them on the whole of the service confuses the hell out of the fare-dodgers getting their tip-offs about inspector locations!  ;)

RIP 4341, one new to YW too. Shame, though at least it wasn't a engine fault this time. Hope they get the person/persons responsible.
