Rewriting Geography/Short Journeys

Actually E isn't unique to the Midlands - we have a 6E in Crewe.

I remember getting on an 11 a longtime ago and receiving a ticket that said '11AE'

it must have been a short journey of the 11A but I don't understand why it never said 11E

Its the way it is programmed into the wayfarer - I expect it was the old wayfarer III it was printed from - where the other was 11CE as the system would see it as either a clockwise short or anti. Obviously times have moved on but if you look hard enough you can still see the old formatting. Mainly within garages though.

Personally I wish they'd scrap the numbers on short journeys, passengers don't read the destination anyway. Example, say the 900 going only to Meridian ::

(900 - very small font) massive 'SHORT JOURNEY'
**scrolls to a massive...(like that 46 which only says Lozells)***

Or just no service number at all and just the final deatination. Maybe then people will stop hoarding themselves on without realising the next stop is the final one.

Seems the only people of whom read destinations are bus nuts and bus drivers.

When users are getting a bus @ :Livery Street , you see single decker = 46 usually 99% of the time Gemini = 7 ALX400 =101
Find it much easier to read like on service 37 with a big Solihull written on it

I just wish there was a bit of consistency across the board.

For clarity, it looks better when the top line (destination) is bigger than the second line (via points), as AG, BC and CV seem to be doing now.

At PE, the Enviro 400 displays are both bright and easily readable, however the Mercs which have been fitted with electronic displays seem very dull and much harder to read!.
