67 to Minworth

After being in Minworth today and struggling to get back to Birmingham after the 71 and 116 stopped running, I wondered why isn't there a proper NXWM service from Minworth to Birmingham? I suggested before that the 67 be extended to Minworth, making it a slightly longer route and creating, I think, a needed link. I was pretty much stranded there because I have a NX bus pass! I had to walk to Castle Vale to get the 67 back to Birmingham. The only issue would be finding a suitable terminus for Bendibuses. One solution being have the 67 follow the 71 through Minworth Village and round to the Kingsbury Road to terminate at Midpoint Park, and then sort of loop back into Castle Vale the way the 638 does. Another is to scrap the Bendibuses, and use Omnilinks and terminate it at Asda Minworth.

The 67A used to run to Minworth didn't it? Not entirely sure how successful it was though as I don't remember it myself!

Still does, but only once a day and to the business park, not the village or ASDA

Ahh I see Cheers, I remember seeing your picture of 6021 on there but assumed the route had died off a long time ago!

There's a proverb in there somewhere... ;-)

I think the 68 before it became a circular used to run from town or was it a 968 that provided the link to Minworth but that was scrapped.

116, but it runs once an hour and the last bus out of the city is 6:43pm, and then the NX 71 stops at around 8pm.

The 71 continues to serve Minworth until 00:31, seven days a week. So, no need to be stranded at Minworth, as I alluded to in my earlier post.

But that's Diamond running it. I was stranded because I have a National Express West Midlands bus pass, and no change on me because of my bus pass.
