Winston...you really are a 'mine' of information!!...if you were around in the thatcher 'Era' you would have been closed down! ;D.   I didn't realise plaxtons made 'deckers'?... their place is part of a small trading estate a few miles short of scarboro' town, I went there to collect an emergency replacement (coach) window many years ago. Do you have Any idea what their share of the market is these days? :-\

There are always people who know more than me who work in the industry, I was around in the thatcher era, I was born in 1976, that said I'm not posting anymore as I'm going on strike!!! ;D

Plaxtons have only ever made the President, but the design originated from Northern Counties which was owned by Plaxtons. I think the Northern Counties name was dropped in favour of Plaxton and Northern Counties Wigan factory became the Plaxton double decker production facility. Plaxtons these days are part of the ADL group and no longer build any buses that I'm aware of, Plaxtons now only build full size/midi coach bodies & badge them as Plaxton but the Scarborough factory is also used to boost capacity for ADL Falkirk products i.e. batches of E200 & E400 are built there & badged as ADL

Yep, if 8 and 8a are sisters and 9 and 9a are sisters, then 8(a) and 9(a) are cousins.
They both go Rail Station -> City Centre -> Ansty Road, but then there are differences at both ends.

Although the colour of the branding may be the same, I presume passengers will be able to distinguish routes by the 8/8A using double deckers & 9/9A using single deckers
I saw E400 branding on 8 that colour is same 9/9A branding.
I'm dislike double decker! I love a bendy buses!

Don't ask to me about Double Decker and only talk me for Single Decker and Bendy buses.

6004 T604 MOA .... 6005 T605 MOA ... 6008 T608 MOA .... 6013 BJ03 ESN ....

The three new Enviros on trade plates were seen entering Pool Meadow just after 2.30p.m having arrived safely.
4890 spent it's first day in service on route 4 instead of the usual bendibus,

I'd thought that the Coventry route map on the Network West Mids site was an indicator as to the colour of future route branding in Coventry, and the 20 and 21 do match the colours on the network map. The 8/8A and 9/9A however are a pale blue on the map, not the claret colour of the route branding.

I thought that too but If the branding was pale blue then you would not be able to see it with Coventry buses in sky blue

NX weren't sure how to spell Stivichall in the branding so asked local residents via website and the local rag. The bus shown in the local paper had branding in red.
The colour branding uses Stagecoach's route branding as the base, hence lime green for route 20.
Stagecoach use red for their routes X15/X18 as part of the livery below the windows on their Enviros.

Great stuff, Rob. From those videos it looks promising the BC E400's will be just as smooth.

Were they as smooth to ride on as they look on the videos? (Better then the B7rle for sure)

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Good to know, mate  ;)

Just out of curiousity [sp], you know when the retarder kicked in, was there any jolt as the speed dropped or did it gradually bring the speed down? (If you know what I mean)

Nothing like when the E200's were new!!

Again, good stuff Rob
