Saw 803 on 14 today in Stechford.

There is usually an E200 on the 14 each weekday it does a 14E to Tile Cross then does a 14 back to Birmingham :)

I seem to remember frequent reports of a B6 working on the 14 when B6s were operating the 99. Does this vehicle work on the 99 at other points during the day. What are the timings the Enviro works on the 14?

How do you mean? The 99 running board interworks with another route, or what?

I mean does the running board that covers the 14 journeys where the Enviro 200s and previously the B6s also include some journeys on the 99 at other times during the day?

To answer it simply; No.

The original comment says that the Enviro 200 does a 14E to Tile Cross then a 14 back to Birmingham, so what else is on the running board or would the vehicle doing those 2 journey be expected to do.

What time are these 14 journeys?

What are you on about? Of course the 14E is on a 14 running card; the 99 would have nothing to do with the 14..

The opening comment to this thread implies that an Enviro 200 appears to regularly work just 2 journeys on the 14 - a 14E B'ham to Tile Cross and then a 14 from Tile Cross to B'ham. It was also frequently reported that a B6 previously did the same. This cannot make an entire running board for 1 vehicle in a day or the entire work that 1 bus does in a day.

Some running boards, for different reasons, run on routes that appear not to naturally fit together - for example the BC p.m. board that runs journeys on 98 / Pershore Road / Bristol Road. This running board I believe has a Bristol Road running board number but strays onto other routes. Similarly, buses off the 29 presumably on 29/xx running board then make late night trips on 22 / 23 / 24 - they have a 29 running board code but are used on other routes.

So is there a vehicle that just works 1 outbound and 1 inward journey on the 14?

If so, what else is on the running board apart from those 2 journeys? or what else would the vehicle doing those 2 journeys be likely to do in a day - for example is it a BC staff bus which then does peak a.m. journeys on the 14, does the 99 require additional peak buses which then for some reason does a couple of journeys on the 14?

Fleetline6477, In reponse to your comment about E200's on the 14- Something similar happens on WN 59 in which a B6 usually works a couple of journeys in the morning then goes back to garage for the day (Or put out onto another route although this may go onto the 26/62?). But a second morning peak board is operated usually by a trident and once finished this board usually goes back to garage for the day (Although may come back out of garage to replace another bus).

So the E200 on the 14 does one trip to Tile Cross as a 14E, A 14 back to Birmingham then dead back to garage

You might be getting confused mate;

None 14 boards (or any boards for that matter) does anything with the 99. The 99 is by itself and there is a short running board which runs back into depot; and an afternoon 14 card which leaves the garage but they're two separate running boards.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.
