5416 on WN 11, arrived in the bus station at 18:57.

Just beat me to it! 4010 is on the 59 now (Not unusual but on a late board replacing a trident) and driver wants to change it (Even the allocaters told me they try keeping Spectra's off late night 59's) so I wouldn't be surprised if the two were swapped

Does the Every 5 minutes between Birmingham & West Bromwich branded Tridents that come from WB over to the Walsall area every schoolday count too!

I always think this is such a strange sight. It operates the 703 New Invention - Thomas More School service. It used to, I'm not 100% sure it's still the same, operate dead from depot to New Invention in the morning, operate the 703 then dead to West Bromwich to continue operating the 74/75 on a late night board.

The return journey also operated dead from garage to Thomas More, before running dead from New Invention to Dudley and operating a late night board on the 74.

Previously, the 702 (now merged with the 701) Thomas More - Bentley service was operated by WB as well. I believe the PM bus then went onto the 5, but was quite often a Merc.
The 703 starts at around 7:30 so its quite resonable for it to be coming from the garage.
Also the 702 was NEVER a merc.
just to say i know this because i go to STM

So when WB operated the 702 which vehicles did operate it Dom? :). Also I presume WA operate it now so what Vehicles operate it now?

domino.99

the 702 was mainly tridents but i remeber there being a president on there once the 702 was cut off about 2 weeks after i started in April so didnt see much of it and the 701 and 703 now can have 51 and X51 branded buses and tridents aswell. Today it was a trident and an OMNILUMP, 1st time id seen one of those on there.

If you are refering to WB operating the 702 then you saw ALX400 bodied B7TL's not tridents :). The 703 is WB operated so wouldn't have 51/X51 branded buses

i was refering to the 701 having X51 / 51 branded uses the 703 has the 412* tridents at walsall in an afternoon morning i ain't there in time to see it

The 703 is operated by WB so can't have WA's 41* Tridents. It regually gets Soho Road branded B7TL's with ALX400 bodywork which then goes on to work the 74/5

I'm not going to say I saw it often, but on the few occasions I saw the 702 when it was operated by WB, was in the afternoon and on all of the occasions it was a Merc. I'm not sure what the regular allocation was, but it has definitely at times been operated by a Merc. I remember the first time I saw it, I passed the vehicle through Bentley and I was so confused as to what a Merc was doing operating the 702 (I didn't realise at the time that WA were no longer operating the route - initially I was thinking it may have been a WN vehicle, then realised it was a WB vehicle upon researching the bus).

Additionally, I've not said it is unreasonable for the 703 vehicle to be coming from the garage. I was just stating what the board entailed.

The 701 is, and as far as I'm aware always has been, operated by WA. This is often an X51 branded vehicle in the PM, as the bus then goes on to operate this service.

To clarify another point, the 702 service was merged with the 701 service last year. I remember when I used to return to my primary school from swimming at Willenhall Baths and passing Thomas More (when it was on the old site) and there'd be a line up of six Metrobuses waiting to operate what was then the S1-S6 services.

1851, branded 4, on WA 40/41. It is serving 41 to Walsall, seen it in Bloxwich Road North at 12:55.

4267 (74/5 Branded) - route 5, not sure if it was the same bus, but there may have possibly been 2 on there

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

4449 - x64 - 97 Branded

Did this do an 829 school trip?

Most likely. Its the only way a decker gets on a 98/xx board I think, as no GP running card is x64 only. Saw 1820ish in the City.

*Double Post*

- Running board 98-13 just does the 16:12 X64 from city and 17:18 return that is what 4449 was on.

So if anyone wants a good thrash with an Unusual Working on the x64 (Technically speaking it is, even if it is a peak board. ) Then you have the times for it.

Ciao.
