This bus will become Travel West Midlands Service 35S.
38Y Birmingham - Olton - International Airport /NEC
50Y Birmingham - Moseley Road - Druids Heath
58Y Birmingham - Coventry Road - Sheldon Arden Oak
84 & 85 Birmingham - Selly Oak - Hawkesley
97Y Birmingham - Meadway - Chelmsley Wood Helmswood Dr.
118Y Erdington - New Oscott - Streetly Hardwick Arms

Edit: thanks Stu :) much appreciated
I found this too in my hard drive :P

Stu

You mean 'suffix' (appended at end), and not 'prefix' (appended at beginning)  ::)

Yes, the -Y suffix indicated a Yourbus service, which was eventually swallowed up by Travel West Midlands.

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

As Stu mentioned these routes were operated by Smiths (Shennington) operating as Your Bus from a base in Alcester. They started the 50Y soon after deregulation in November 1986 and then expanded with the 53/54Y City to Maypole via Balsall Heath, Kings Heath and Brandwood Park Rd and the A6Y/C6Y circular services from City to Solihull, Shirley, Kings Heath, Cotteridge, Northfield to City each way.

West Midlands Travel bought a controlling interest in February 1994 and the operation was moved to Miller St eventually becoming Travel Your Bus. The operation was merged with the main Travel WM fleet in Feb 2001
