I've been told that the recent Emeralds (69 plates) are driven by ZF gearboxes rather than Voith (68 plates).

Is this true? Why the change in drivetrain? Seems very odd..!

Yes, the newest ones there are ZF ones. I was hoping we'd get some down here too, but that ain't happening now.

The further order will see Xplore Dundee receive 12 BYD ADL Enviro400EV double-deckers...

Xplore Dundee will deploy its Enviro400EVs to service 28 between Myrekirk and Douglas via the city centre. They will be known as Electric Emeralds.

In addition to the confirmed battery-electric bus orders, McGill's says that it is in "advanced talks with a variety of partners" to bring 12 hydrogen fuel cell-electric examples into the Xplore Dundee fleet. They are due to arrive "in the next 12 months."

Presumably there is no 7013 - or should I say no 2813. Unless that is still around withdrawn? And obviously the new numbers 4111-21 didn't include 2246.

Are these identical to the West Midlands versions? I'd imagine they were ordered before the sale, or not?
