@4Q which licence has gone? Acorn or Val's?   and from when?

All opinions and onions mentioned on here are mine and not those of any employer, current, past, present or future, or presented as fact, unless I prove it otherwise.

Don't know who is running the X73 from Monday (or the 16 for that matter) but school route L1 will have a new operator.

If you scroll down the above document under Tamworth borough both the 16 & X73 are shown as cancelled from 2/3

Are we going to keep the thread open for Mr James' next incarnation?

the new op for X73 is  Central buses  as they already run X55 in Tamworth https://www.flickr.com/photos/stanjack/16672319346/

Wonder how long this will last, it's never been a particularly busy service and there must be a fair amount of dead mileage for Central.

It was right in the doorstep for Acorn and they probably got a school run out of it too.

Exactly the same amount of dead milage for either company, just at different times

The x73 runs with the 16
So after arriving in bham it runs dead to park hall school before starting the 26 to Tamworth then runs between tamworth & Kingsbury.  In the afternoon the 16 runs to park hall school then dead to bham before running x73 back to tamworth;  so not much dead mileage for a tamworth based operator.
having said that the x73 was tendered so central buses probably have it on tender as well.

Oddly no decision in todays N&P - did he just not turn up?

Bob

Why do they still bother with the X73? Did it used to be a midland red/arriva route?

Steveminor

Bob it's what remains of the old frontline x73.
I'm sure you wouldn't be saying that if you relied on the service to get to work & back
