National Express Coventry - Unusual Workings

The 21 branded Enviros you see off route in the evening are some of route 7 journeys from Middlemarch which are scheduled to run empty there from Willenhall.
These journeys do Middlemarch - Brownshill Green - Pool Meadow then to garage. The other Middlemarch journeys don't stand out as they are Tridents from other routes.

The opposite occurs in the morning where buses start from the garage do a 7 to Brownshill Green then to Middlemarch then dead to Willenhall to then start on the 21. 

One 21 branded Enviro in the morning goes empty from depot to Wood End to do an 8A to Coventry Station and then back to Wood End before going to the 21 in place of a bus that swaps in the other direction after doing a 21S. It sounds convoluted but is a very efficient use of resources.

Only a couple of buses on the 21 can be bendibuses as they are the ones that work solely on the 21.

For efficiency, I'd have thought it would be better interworking the long 7's with the 3a rather than 21 if operationally feasible, so it can be worked by single deckers.
I don't use the 7, so might well be wrong, but when I have seen it, it always seems pretty quiet, and I can't help thinking that there must be other peak-time routes which need the deckers a bit more!

There aren't supposed to be any Mercs on the 20/A/E in the same way they are not supposed to be on the 10.
