I'm told that Wigston's 4778 has gone (or will be very shortly going) to join the Midland operation at Wednesfield. It is to be fitted with a fare box as are all their buses.

As the Midland operation is awaiting OFT clearance, presumably it wont be used in service yet (unless it is painted red of course).

What would Midland want with another decker? The services they run dont even carry enough passengers to fill a bloody Solo!

I am really not sure if there will be any more tat from leicester going over, because word has it that the ALX400's are going to Thurmaston and are being replaced at Wigston by more 51 Reg Wright's.

Whether that means there will be a few cascades from Thurmaston is a different matter, although it is a possibility?

Imo be a waste of time and money to respray it and fit the exact fare thing to it considering in january its all to become arriva anyway, I always see 1 of midlands deckers in walsall on the 19's and the bottom deck doesn't get filled infact the r/mew darts don't even get full on these so why transfer a decker to them wen it could be put tom more use else where?? Anybody agree....???

Midland don't need deckers... Arriva have better uses for spare deckers, for example Tamworth need a spare for the 110 to cover for the Gemini's, which as of late seem to be dropping like flies.

NXWM Spectra

Releases a Midland Trident to the paint shop really.

Also, the PVR of the 10 where the deckers are used is 3, and since the takeover and the Scania Omnicitys left, there is always at least 1 Dart on the route.

Alternatively, if Arriva have any schools work in Wolverhampton, (which I'm not aware of) a decker is needed on most school work.

Wait and see - things in the pipeline!

well Arriva had taken over the Midland Operation on the basis that it could be expanded. obviously it seems that there are some changes expected in and around Wednesfield and I suppose that it is all quiet for the moment until the time is right. Until them we don't really know! lol

Id say that expansion is pretty doubtful, Midlands routes are hardly in a big league are they and if they try to make inroads into the WM market id say theyll fail miserably! look how badly planned and run the X31 was, buses down the gridlocked m6 for cryin out loud! all they had to do was extend the 1 down the A34.... itll be a repeat of Chase....
