I assume this first one is just for driver/engineer type-training, though I'm sure I read here before that for drivers there isn't much of a difference between the Enviro200 and the Enviro400, unless that was just for the later MMC types.

I'd also hazard a guess that this means that most of YW's remaining Scanias will end up getting swapped with Enviro200s, as I can't see them keeping two types.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to QE Hospital | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

It's being used for the route training with a lot of drivers needing to learn the route

They're nothing like the Enviro 400s at Yardley Wood.

By 'swopped', would that mean theorectically(I stress, before some smart ass has a pop!) the likes of Walsall, for example, could lose some Enviro 200's in favour of yet more Scanias?

If so, it'll be interesting to hear what condition said Scanias would be in, bearing in mind recent Scania moves / transfers have been a bit 'hit & miss', while trying to re-enter them into service.

Correct. The mk2's have the exact same cab and control layout as the E200's same with the E200 & 400 MMC's. Only different one was the mk1 E400's

YW did have 4922-4926 for a time but that was a few years ago.

Presumably just a refresher would be needed.

They had 4919-4926 all at one point.

Well if YW is going to be getting Enviro200s, they have to come from somewhere!

I'm counting 15 left at YW, I don't know what they're like mechanically, but interior-wise, most of them are still in excellent condition.

By my estimates, I think that YW would only need 10 E200s anyway for the extended 27, including a couple of spares.

Do they still use scanias on the 2/3? I'm guessing the E200s might not be suitable for those?
A couple of extra deckers to see them out of YW maybe?

Yes, Scanias do still appear regularly on the 2 and 3, though not as many now. It was the MMC E200s that ended up not being suitable for the 2, presumably the earlier E200s don't have the same turning circle issue.

Don't forget that from 20th July, holiday timetables will kick in so some routes will have PVR reductions.

I'm going to hazard a wild guess where they'd come from - CV when they get their electric single deckers by the end of the year? There'd also be some B7RLEs for Walsall to replace Scanias.

Will they get more double deckers (some of the 130 order?) for the 14/17/9 etc workings that use single decks or maybe Coventry will no longer be going fully electric?
