Quote from: darthdc on April 30, 2025, 04:05:28 PMGiven all the singles that are leaving YW, are they planning on having the 2 and 3 be DD only routes? Or are they redirecting the 27 to avoid Bournville Lane?
They're not all leaving, and the 27 is not being changed in Bournville.

With the arrival of the EVs, there are more doubles now, so more will appear on the 2 and 3 in time.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to QE Hospital | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

1911 has been inspected at Walsall and found to be in no better condition than their own 18xx, so will not be entering service there.

Shame really because I enjoyed driving 6995 having said that 6997 was a bit more problematic as last time I drove it on the X2 I ended up taking it back to garage from the wheatsheaf with electrical issues to be swapped out with 6995

E200s to YW, that's really surprising!

Ideal buses for the revised 27 route, not that surprising. Stagecoach use E200s on the 169, and they also under 10' tall so if Network Rail have the sign changed on Bournville Station bridge they still fit.

Yes, replacing that section of the 169

Blimey. If the same route is used I hope reliability isn't too badly impacted.

The 169 gets clobbered especially when the school traffic starts - although part of the delay is along Vicarage Road to loop round at The Red Lion which the 27 won't do. In fact looking at bustimes now, one vehicle is 23 minutes late and the other 14 late.

I understand the route is being slightly amended though I don't have details yet.

Its not just the school traffic, the 169 is regularly late on a Saturday when I get to use it - mainly due to traffic congestion in Shirley and Solihull.
