5428 DU to WN today

Seen 5428 parked at Walsall Garage this morning. :)

Now the engineering Managers at the respective garages know the plan I can post it here.

9 Hybrids Dundee-Wolverhampton
9 49xx Wolverhampton - Yardley Wood
9 E200MMCs YW-Dundee.

This cures the problem of Single decks at YW turning up on inappropriate journies on the 2, 3 & 18

Are WB getting anymore of the E200MMC as we only have three 2234/37/38.

2239-2247 to Dundee and 2232/3/5/6 to WB perhaps?

Interesting reallocations.

I thought DU was getting 9 new Emerald E400 MMCs to replace the Hybrids - if they're having those as well, it looks like they'll be getting a larger fleet (unless they'll replace other vehicles)? Plus 18 more repaints required (I guess the E200MMCs would be due in a year or so anyway and some of the hybrids are due anyway).

Dundee are having the 9 new Emerald's + the 9 x E200MMC's from NXWM to increase the number of Euro 6 within their fleet, thus replacing older vehicles.

Surely a straight swap from Dundee to Yardley Wood would have required less repaints and been more cost effective?

Yardley Wood aren't typed trained on E400H and NX likes to try and keep batches together so now all E400H will be based at WN

How would it have required less repaints?

Has an engineer at Yardley Wood any clue on how to change an electric traction motor? - No

Do you know what service/s will use the Hybrids? It wouldn't be the 1 because it already has some and the only other routes that I can think of are the 11,59 and the 79 and maybe even the 32/33.
But I'm pretty sure that the 59 still has branded Tridents.

Well as 9 49xx are leaving I would imagine WN will use them the same as the 49xx!

And they do a perfectly good job. I can't see those being debranded and leaving the 59 anytime soon. 9 E400's are leaving so i'd imagine they'll make up the numbers on the 15, 16 & 17.
