I'm left with impression AVL is a machine used to create performance statistics showing how reliability is improving, rather than being used as a tool to work out where persistant problems exist with late running so that action can be taken to deal with it.
After all it all very nice having buses running a regular intervals on a screen but it doesn't show where bus users are left waiting by buses being short tripped!
The way duties are constructed is vital to make timetables work reliably and that surely requires feedback from drivers not just a machine spewing out data.
