Selly Oak new road bus stops?

I noticed the other week that where the new section of the A38 has been built towards Aston Webb Blvd there's bus stops on both sides of the road with centro signs (though I think they're blank). Anyone know why? Potential bus re-routing that never happened or something else?

Because of the burst water main in Selly Oak, the 61, 63, X62 & X64 are now all using the bypass and these bus stops. Maybe it is just for when the main road is inaccessible?
