This isn't a first for either garage or vehicle type, 4336 springs to mind!

Is it a first for the dreadful ZF box variant?

From memory yes, but I could be wrong! Might have been a wolves one go up before now too on a smaller scale.

4312 suffered an engine fire in 2007

Considering the number of Tridents in the NX fleet, the Tridents haven't really had that much of a 'burning desire' to catch fire

There's been plenty in other parts of the country (particularly on motorway runs), I'd say NXs are ageing quite well overall.

Yes but I'm on about the ZF's, boss.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

London operators have experienced a number of fires, but there a higher number than here in WM. NX Tridents have done pretty well if you compare the fleet size / against no of fires with other types such as Presidents / Mercs / B6LE etc

There isn't any ones at WN that have caught fire (Well not engine fires anyway) as far as i'm aware

If we get a very warm summer with temperatures frequently about 30 celsius, I wonder what impact this will have on the number of bus fires.

Also on a side note, I don't remember many Metrobuses lighting up.

Not so much fires, more a case of overheating with lack of water! [They should cut out when the temp sensor says so .]

Apparently, Saturday will be the hottest day of the year, according to Good Morning Britain. Wonder if there might be a bus fire on that day? If it happens - don't blame it on me lol.
