NX announced a few years ago now that they would not be buying any more diesel vehicles.

Besides, why buy new diesel single decks when they already have too many?

To replace older diesel single deckers? Unless omnilinks "dont need replacing"

I'm sure NX will have them being replaced in mind

Omnilinks are very quickly falling by the wayside, as you'll note from @Tony posts - with NX being overfleet with single deckers, and no single electrics on order, then the maths is easy.

Omnilinks have served, and continue to serve, their purpose. The other consideration is franchising. Very few operators would invest in new buses with the uncertainty of franchising not knowing if there's any routes for them to operate in the future, again simple economics.......

No routes, no income. No income, no money. No money, can't by buses.

I would think with the pending arrival of the 130 electrics that once the remaining Tridents and Geminis are gone then the Omnilnks with next

Backed up by the very healthy fleet of E200s and B7RLE's - there's plenty to cover withdrawals now after careful planning - again, a knee jerk reaction by enthusiasts who, if they actually thought it through, could answer their own questions.

Omnilinks are being replaced with brand new electric double-decks, as well as 'newer' single-decks.

Depends on what time you saw it, it did a full day's duty finishing in Frankley at 6:33pm - it may have then 'popped in' to YW garage to collect something/someone before heading back to BC, or its gone there for some repair work or the like.

Unless its not tracking (it's not on the list) it hasn't been in service for a week as that was on Friday 20th.

Ah my bad, I'm on holiday so I don't know what day it is!

In that case, my best guess is that it went to YW for some repair work then, or was just doing a 'parts run' while it was sitting spare at BC.
