Quote from: Steve3229vp on May 03, 2025, 03:08:58 PMI doubt whether there will be any buses left over as the 48 will be increased to every 20 minutes.
And the 48 is being extended again to Northfield.

This doesn't affect passengers or bus operations, only the driving staff and the routes they drive.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to QE Hospital | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

It looks like the revised 48 will typically need 8 buses Mon - Sat daytime. I think this is the same number as the current 20(A) and 48(A) use during that time too.

Was something going on in the Bilston area last night? Just wondered why the 43 was late all night from about 1930 onwards

729/730 both parked inside garage this evening stood out being in complete white.

Has 4970, a 74 branded bus, been banned from running on the 74 or something? Hasn't done a 74 run in over a month! There's no way that's a coincidence

this is what happened last time it was on 74 (10th may, seemingly the last time it ever worked the 74 up until now, 09:58 to west brom)

but yeah @ZF B7 thats intresting actually...

i get it if a bus is banned from a route due to hills and stuff like national speed limit sections for a entire route which cause 5mph driving and overheating but the 74 is all 30mph no major roads.

if a bus would be banned from any WB route it would be the 5, half the route is 40mph and massive hill

I think I'd be more interested for my 74 to turn up rather than focusing on a specific bus and investigate why it hasn't came on the 74.

Why can't anyone make interesting observations without some miserable twit making obnoxious replies. Not everything has to revolve around your non-existent commute

I don't think it is banned any Bus could do that on any route, It was probably repaired and if it isn't in service waiting for the parts or part presumably AD Blue Tank or Oil Part or it just has been allocated to a Route that isn't the 74 as it was left in the garage at a perfect time to start say the 80 or 5 or it wasn't parked near the front when the 74 journeys were allocated.

disagree with you tbh, if the bus didnt need adblue or oil it would still be running to west brom
it also wouldnt be a coincidence for a whole month and some late 74 pads leave at about 6 -> 7am long after the 80 82 87 started running. wouldve agreed if the bus wasnt branded for the 74, but previously it wasnt too common to see a dudley rd bus on 74 or 5 as well so allocating dudley rd branded on dudley rd routes matters to the garage

its either a informal joke with allocations or a route ban or some random variable

I was saying it may have needed a part for the Oil or AdBlue like any Veichle that leaks it, maybe it was temporarily fixed and hence hasn't been put back on the 74 until it is permanently fixed maybe a new part completely, maybe it is being tested before being used back on the 74 to make sure it doesn't break again.

but what makes it so specific to the 74, also i aint no engineer but how can u "temporarily" fix a tank?

any speculation i have i instantly refute it myself

would be so funny if 4970 went on 74 tomorrow ironically!
